What\u2019s the most expensive thing you\u2019ve ever bought?<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s interesting to see what people are willing to pay for things.<\/p>\n

The price for something is determined by a number of things. This includes how common or rare it is, and how many people want or need it. So, something that is truly unique — one of a kind — is likely to be considered very valuable.<\/p>\n

But what\u2019s more unique and valuable than people?\u00a0<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

This month\u2019s Waypoints comic, \u201cLost and Found<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d was inspired by a parable Jesus told (in Luke 15:4-7), and is a picture of just how much we\u2019re worth to God.<\/p>\n

The shepherd in this story went to a lot of trouble to find that one lost sheep. Some people might say that losing one sheep isn\u2019t a big loss when you\u2019ve still got a hundred. But that\u2019s not how the shepherd felt. To a good shepherd, each and every sheep is important.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And this is how God sees us, too.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

We all want to believe that we\u2019re valuable. That our lives matter and are worth living. We may look for value in other things. But our true worth, our true value, comes from God. He made us, and He loves us. And He showed us that love through Jesus.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Bible puts it this way:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cFor God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son [Jesus], that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d <\/strong>(John 3:16)<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So what\u2019s your worth? As it turns out, quite a lot!<\/strong><\/p>\n
