We just told it from two different perspectives (You can read the original for yourself in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+5%3A21-43&amp;version=NIV\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark 5:21<\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+5%3A21-43&amp;version=NIV\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-43<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this story, Jesus was on His way to Jairus&#8217; house to heal Jairus\u2019 daughter.\u00a0 As Jesus made His way through the crowd, a sick woman approached Him from behind and reached out to Him for healing.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.waypoints.jp\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Waypoints015-1.jpg&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.20.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; title_text=&#8221;Waypoints015-1&#8243; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; border_width_all=&#8221;5px&#8221; border_color_all=&#8221;#3c265c&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.20.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The passage tells us that she had been suffering with a disease that causes bleeding &#8212; for 12 long years!\u00a0 She\u2019d spent all her money and was still suffering.\u00a0 And in that culture and time, she would have been an outcast too; people were forbidden by the law to come into contact with blood. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">So she was sick, poor and lonely.\u00a0 She was desperate for healing, and when she reached out to Jesus, she finally found it. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">But that\u2019s not the end of her story. An interesting thing happened next\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Jesus stopped.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.waypoints.jp\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Waypoints015-2.jpg&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.20.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; title_text=&#8221;Waypoints015-2&#8243; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; border_width_all=&#8221;5px&#8221; border_color_all=&#8221;#3c265c&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.20.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Why?<\/strong> He didn\u2019t need to, right? Jesus was busy, and the woman had already been healed. Jesus could have just kept going. Certainly that\u2019s what Jairus would have wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>But to Jesus, that one woman was not just a part of the crowd.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By stopping, Jesus showed her that she mattered. After years of isolation, she needed not only physically healing, but acceptance too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And Jesus accepted her. She wasn\u2019t an outcast in Jesus\u2019 eyes. He cared for her personally. He even called her \u201cdaughter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In today\u2019s society it\u2019s easy to feel isolated. You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone. But no matter how small or insignificant you feel, you matter. <strong>You\u2019re not just another face in the crowd.<\/strong> Jesus shows us that each person matters, has value and is loved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As one verse tells us:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u201cFor God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d<\/strong> (John 3:16)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are loved.
